The Great Modelrailway Exhibition is organized since 2002 every two years by the publisher of Belgium's biggest model railroad magazine, Modelspoor Magazine (Dutch) / Train Miniature Magazine (French) and Belgium's most famous railroad magazine, Spoorweg journaal (Dutch) / Journal de chemin de fer (French).

The expo has a highly valued exhibition section with more than 30 model railways that are among the best in Western Europe. The apotheosis of the mini modelrailways and diorama competition, each with +/- 15 participants, will also take place during the expo weekend. The event attracts more than 5,000 visitors every two years.

Modelspoormagazine, the leading monthly magazine for model railways, is organizing Belgium's largest model railway expo for the tenth time. This exhibition, which is internationally renowned, is aimed at everyone, young and old, who are fascinated by the wonderful world of the miniature train.

The 10th edition will take place during the weekend of September 28-29, 2024.

After the successful edition of 2018, we unfortunately had to cancel the 2020 and 2022 editions due to corona. It was a very long wait for our tenth edition, but the countdown has now started.

Our search for a suitable location was not easy. We realize that all model railway enthusiasts, model builders, manufacturers and traders yearn for a major fair / expo, after the corona years. We didn't sit still and found a new location in Wieze, located between Aalst and Dendermonde and easily accessible, also by public transport. The Oktoberhallen has over 5,000 m² of exhibition space.

During the last weekend of September 2024, the Oktoberhallen in Wieze will be transformed into the center of the model train world.

Wieze (near Aalst) is centrally located in the country and also easily accessible by public transport or car. The hall has ample parking. The organization provides a well-groomed catering. Children smaller than 155 cm have free access when accompanied by a paying adult.

Come and see the achievements of the most famous model builders from Western Europe. Today, the model railways on display have an unprecedented level of detail. Houses, landscapes and trains are models meticulously built by passionate model builders. The builders are real artists who manage to create a world in 3D on a limited surface.

30 model railways, large and small, will be present. In addition, several dozen participants in the mini model railroad and dioramas competitions are showing the public for the first time what they are capable of on a small surface, bringing the total to more than 50 layouts on display. In addition, various demos about building, painting and everything related to the hobby are given at ten stands. In addition to the expo section, there is also a large fair where new and second-hand equipment can be purchased.

The major manufacturers in the model train world will be present in Wieze because the expo is always an excellent opportunity to present new productions to a wide audience of experts.

For model train enthusiasts, the exhibition section offers everything to supplement the collection or to purchase all kinds of material and tools. This ranges from rolling stock, construction kits and scenery, books/DVDs, tools to many small items that are difficult to obtain in the specialist trade. More than 70 commercial participants ensure that everyone returns home satisfied. 3,000 m² of hall space is available for the commercial part.

Animation is also provided for children, for example, they can get to work and build their own houses, under the supervision of adult model builders.
